I don't like using gas. Can I use my gas grill as a charcoal grill? It has never been used. What if I decide, years from now, I want to use it as a gas grill, can I?

I’m not sure its possible. Check to see if you can remove the gas lines and the burners. Don’t see why you can’t add charcoal and use it. As far as bringing it back, not too sure about that either. You might clog too many things with the charcoal over time.
You don’t.
Not that it’s not possible, because I’m sure someone very cleverly could get it to work (perhaps not as efficiently as a regular coal grill)… but you don’t because charcoal grills are not as good for you or for the environment as natural gas grills. In fact, gas grills are even better for the environment (and you) than electic grills.
So stick with what you’ve got. It’s already the best you’re gonnal get. If you’re looking for that charcoal grilled flavor, there are seasonings and spreads that provide it just as easily.
all u have to do is remove all the fittings to use charcoal. then replace them when u want to hook up the gas again. charcoal is messy but really all u need is a cheap charcoal bbq, which u can get anywhere this time of year.

DONT DO IT…unless your wife has a huge insurance pollicy on you. you can do major damage to you, your home and the next person to use the BBQ. Do yourself the favor and spend the $175 for a webber charcoal BBQ
