I'm having an argument with my wife, and we decided that YA would settle it by majority.
How often do you clean your gas grill? I mean take the grates to a sink and scrub them with brillo. My wife wants to do this after each use. I just want to scrub it with a wire brush and burn it after each use for about 10 minutes. Anyway......What do you do?

Don’t have a gas grill – use the big green egg. But the issue is the same.
I do what you do. Scrub with wire brush, but I do it the next time I use the grill.
I’ve never cleaned the grates for the grill the way your wife suggests.
I had an Brinkmans bullet smoker, I used to clean the grates for that in the sink after every use. The smoker never got hot enough to burn the “stuff” off.
I have a chrome holder for doing double beer can chickens, I clean that after every use with a brillo pad – that’s a big mess.
I “thoroughly” clean mine once a year. You can turn the grill on “high” and burn most of the crud off. Clean the grates good after each use with a wire brush made for specifically for grills. Your wife must be “squeaky clean”.
clean it after you cook, every single time!
A grill is like a cooks best pan, you never clean it, just scrape the crap off and burn it.
I clean it before I use it.
I rub the grates with aluminum foil and that usually takes off all the gunk.
Then the heat sterilizes it.
I don’t ever take it to the sink to clean it, then I would have the whole mess in the sink to clean up.
If someone did it for me it would be ok though.
I don’t use mine very often that’s why I do the cleaning before instead of after I use it, I want it to be clean for the food to be put on.
Well, I usually use charcoal and let the remaining heat burn off the grate after cooking.
