A tossed salad with dressing on the side so salad doesn’t wilt.
Fried rice potato salad boiled small potatoes halved with garlic butter(can be kept warm on bbq)

Traditionally, skewered food is served on a bed of rice or some sort of tiny pasta like couscous or even spaetzle. A rice salad would be nice, or a pasta salad, but be stingy with the dressing since you don’t want it to overpower the meat. I personally would go with tabbouleh, a Mediterranean type salad with bulgur wheat. It makes up ahead of time and isn’t too strongly flavored but would complement the main dish beautifully:http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler…

Since it is at a park, use potato or pasta salad–easy to make any amount and ahead of time.
You could also make veggie kabobs to cook at same time—need lots of cook space though.
Baked beans always are good at cook out.
    Cole slaw or salad.

Rice Pilaf, Taboulleh salad, Tziki sauce, olives, feta cheese, pita bread, tomatoes, pickles, pickled turnips. If you feel really creative make some stuffed grape leaves too…so good
Try this rice…so good…I put extra almonds because I love them so muchhttp://www.recipezaar.com/Spiced-Rice-Pi…
