@elkennetho86 asks a great question. The set was designed by bbq competitors and feature a few knives you won’t find in traditional culinary sets. We added the popular breaking, cimeter and long blade slicing knife that are perfect for meat prep and presentation. Since bbq teams travel and some teams own restaurants, we included traditional kitchen knives such as a chef, boning, and paring. The case stores nice in the rv and holds your gloves, thermometers, etc that you will need.

cool knives. i picked up the 10″ Old Hickory you guys use and it’s my favorite in the kitchen. the more oversized it is for a particular job, the bigger the kick i get out of it. opens up a pack of bacon great! thumbs up!

I have a very similar Mundial set that’s sold in Australia and they are great! They hold an edge longer than most knives, and don’t be fooled by the look of the handle. They hold up to the test of time as well as being comfortable to use. I like ‘em a lot!

    Great info.

@BIGTRIP460 the knives are slightly heavier than other stamped blade knives, such as Victorinox–but they aren’t in the same weight range as a forged knife. They are way more sturdy than a typical discount store knife. Since Mundial makes commercial quality cutlery, used in food service and the meat processing industry, they will be thick enough to withstand commercial abuse, but not so heavy that will cause strains. A typical employee at a larger meat plant can make over 15,000 cuts a shift.

@fyshy1 Mundial knives were included in a sharpness test recently, and were found to hold an edge and remain sharp just as long as brands such as Victorinox and Henckel. Mundial is our number one selling brand to our restaurant customers and is gaining ground on F. Dick and Victorinox with the butcher and meat processors. What I like best in the handle is it was designed to provide control at various hand positions–especially with thumb on top boning out meat or a carcasses.

As a professional chef, I can say Mundial have always made quality knives. Not top quality, but still an excellent value.
You boys must be doing good, doing commercials now.
