It's a fairly new and really nice grill, but I don't have a natural gas hookup for it on my deck... could I just run propane through it? I called tech support and they said it could be "extremely unsafe" to do that, but wouldn't say how it'd be unsafe, could it explode or somesuch? I really want to grill, but don't have the qualifications to run a natural gas pipe 
Any ideas?

yes it is unsafe, the holes that the gas goes through are different sizes for different types of gas. the science behind that is beside the point. almost all gas grills have “conversion kits” to go from propane to natural gas and vice versa. you can likely order it from their website, it is as simple as switching out the burner assemblies, just takes a small cresent wrench and a screwdriver. It is much easier than running a gas line. and cheaper
shawnd is right. A conversion kit is available for Weber BBQ’s.
All gas grills are set for propane….they add a converter to use natural gas….contact Sears Service to find out what to remove….
You need to buy a conversion kit. They do make them for Weber.
Definitely do not run propane through a natural gas set-up. Get a conversion kit or if you are not comfortable doing this job yourself, hire it done. One other option would be to sell the natural gas grill and then buy a propane one. Just remember, safety first, it’s not worth burning the house down!
